Walcha Elder Honoured at Summervale Camp Kitchen Opening

It was all about food, family, fun and honouring a respected Elder, at the opening of Amaroo Local Aboriginal Land Council’s Camp Kitchen at Summervale Village in Walcha recently.

The Camp Kitchen will be used as a hub for community activities from special events, meetings and Elders’ and children’s activities.

The Kitchen was built using funding from NSW Aboriginal Land Council’s Community Fund, and has been dedicated to a late Elder, Aunty Beryl Green.

NSWALC Councillor for Northern Region Charles Lynch told OurMob that Aunty Beryl was a dedicated Land Rights network member for many decades.
